Turns out Sushant Singh Rajput-starrer 'MS Dhoni: The Untold Story', which hit screens last Friday, was not released in Marathi as planned. The MNS' cine wing had objected to the cricketer's biopic being dubbed in aamchi language, saying it will lead to 'unfair' competition for regional films.
After a dialogue with the outfit chief Ameya Khopkar, the makers decided to drop the plans about which director Neeraj Pandey had hinted in an earlier interview with hitlist.
"I am all for regional cinema. If Hindi version impacts regional cinema in some way, then I have a clear stand on it — regional films have to survive. They can co-exist, but there has to be a way about it," he had said.
